car selling scammers

I’m selling my car at the moment and have placed ads on a couple of sites. Within the hour of placing the ad the phone calls come in. NOT from people interested in buying the car, from companies who reckon they have people ready to buy the car. These are often SCAMMERS and the ones I have come across so far are:

PRO-SELLER:
View this scammers website
Hear from victims and near victims of the pro-seller
scam.

AUTO BUYER:
View this scam website
Hear reviews and stories about the auto buyer scam.

I got a call from both these companies in succession immediately after placing my ad on two genuine car sales websites. The sales pitch is the same each time:

  • We match buyers to cars
  • We arrange credit for the buyers
  • WE HAVE SOMEONE WITH THE MONEY READY TO BUY YOUR CAR (Pro-seller actually claim this!)
  • We need a registration fee of £79.99 (or £99.99, it varies) which is fully refundable when you sell your car (pro-seller claim this)
  • We take a one off fee of £79.99 (auto buyer)
  • Is your car in good condition?
  • Can our buyer call you within the next hour? (Pro-Seller)
  • Would you like cash or postal order? (Pro-Seller)
  • Our buyer will want to pay and take the car immediately, is that ok? (Pro Seller)
  • Don’t let the buyer haggle with you because it is our strict credit terms that they pay the full asking price (Pro Seller)

The list goes on.

Basically they work at convincing you they are genuine and that you are really about to sell your car with a guaranteed full asking price in cash. Then you don’t hear from them again.

In case I need to repeat:

Pro Seller are Scammers
Pro Seller is a CON
Auto Buyer is a Scam
Auto Buyer are NOT INTERESTED in selling your car
AUTO BUYER offer NO after sales service

Don’t be fooled.
